Prawatt
[read pra:wa:t]
The band from Trójmiasto was formed in 2004 on Jachi
's initiative (the percussion machine designer), who is the driving force
behind Prawatt's music.
Band members:
Karol Schwarz - guitar, voice,
generators, beats, mixer, postproduction.
Szymon Albrzykowski [ex "Szelest Spadajacych Papierkow"]
- generators, beats, bass guitar, vinyl records.
also played:
Kamilus Kamil Jastrzębski, Jud [Efektvol],
Mieshko Mysiakowski, Eva Kura aka Virus.
The success of their debut album [recorded by Salut] was due in part to number
of gigs and highly successful reviews. Following its success, it took the
band two years to be in the strong position on the national electronic music
scene. Prawatt is treated as an open project; so far numerous musicians have
joined the band both in a recording studio and gigs. The EP "Man und
Cios" recorded with Jerzy Mazzoll and published by the independent 'Nasiono'
record label is the effect of one of such sessions. The EP was followed by
the live album "Dziady"[Nasiono].
The band's new album "Half Prawatt Half Los" [Salut] has explored
other musical tunes shifting the band in other directions and showing the
changes as highly acceptable.
The band gave up most of the effects keeping in mind the pure sound of generators
with guitar riffs; "Half Los" is near to ambient music even though
the 'noisy parts' are still noticeable.
It's the first time Prawatt has recorded using the multitrack technology which
undoubtedly improved the sound of Prawatt. The tracks come form a three -
day – session hold in winter 2006 in a medium farm near the village called
Losienice (Poland).
